First of the Roll

Oftentimes, when loading 35mm film into the camera, the first frame of the roll is partially exposed to direct sunlight and damaged. The resulting effects can be very interesting, with photos cut in half and odd hues of color. Knowing this, I often experiment with this first shot to see what interesting effects might occur. These images are strange, they contain mystery and invite intrigue, and that’s what makes them beautiful to me.
